Ralston Ave. Improvement Project

The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District, in collaboration with the City of Belmont, will host a public workshop to share proposed improvements to the intersection at Tahoe Drive and Ralston Avenue and along Ralston Middle School. Potential improvements are intended to ease traffic congestion during school drop-off and pick-up, improve pedestrian walkways, and enhance public safety through signalization and signage. All community members are invited and encouraged to participate!

Potential improvements are intended to ease traffic congestion during school drop-off and pick-up, improve pedestrian walkways, and enhance public safety through signalization and signage. All community members are invited and encouraged to participate!

About the Open House

  • What:  Learn about and provide feedback on potential improvements to the intersection at Tahoe Drive and Ralston Avenue and along Ralston Middle School.
  • Where:  Ralston Middle School, Gymnasium2675 Ralston Ave, Belmont
  • When: Thursday, November 3, 6:00-8:00 pm

Open House participants will listen to a brief presentation covering the project history and purpose, timeline for completion, and currently identified issues with the Tahoe/Ralston intersection. Following the presentation, participants will be invited to visit several exhibit stations featuring options for improvements to turning lanes, traffic restrictions, grading, and more. Each interactive exhibit station will be staffed by a project team member and will be designed to collect feedback about the community’s preferred outcome.

You may attend at any time from 6:00-8:00 PM to participate.  The presentation is optional and will begin at 6:15 PM.

About the Project

This intersection improvement project will take place over four phases: (1) project kick-off, community input, and draft plan, (2) draft plan refinement and engineering, (3) construction strategy and contractor selection, and (4) construction. Improvements to the Tahoe/Ralston intersection are expected to be complete in Fall 2017.
