Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Information

OVERVIEW

Pursuant to Education Code 46120 and effective fall, 2022, BRSSD offers all unduplicated pupils, in Grades TK-6, in classroom-based instructional programs access to comprehensive after school and intersessional expanded learning opportunities. In order to meet the diverse needs of our community and reduce travel, we will be hosting on-site programs at 6 schools (Ralston 6th graders will be transported to Nesbit for participation). Regardless of the provider, all programs will meet the same requirements:

  • Unduplicated pupils are either English Learners (as identified by the ELPAC), Foster Youth, or qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch.

Programs must be free to all students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch and Foster Youth. English Learners who are not dually identified as FRL or Foster Youth will be responsible for tuition on a sliding scale (up to full tuition, based on individual need).

All programs must be comprehensive and include academic content, enrichment activities and a snack that meets nutritional standards.

Students will have access to a 9-hour instructional day for the 180 days of the school year and for 9 hours each day on 30 non-instructional days.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

For the 23-24 school year, the programs will be provided from August 16 - June 7, on all school days, regardless of dismissal time. The providers by site are as follows:
