Measure C Parcel Tax Information

While BRSSD schools provide an excellent education, BRSSD’s per student funding is below the state average and among the lowest in the county. For nearly 20 years, our communities have supported our schools by passing stable funding parcel tax measures (Measure R and Measure K) to help make up for this gap. On June 7, 2022, voters approved measure C to combine and renew two existing parcel taxes (Measure R and Measure K) at the same rate of $292 per parcel, per year for 10 years, with an added cost of living adjustment.

Funding from Measure C helps BRSSD schools

  • Protect core academic programs in science, technology, engineering, reading, writing, art, music and math;

  • Maintain accelerated math and innovative programs;

  • Attract and maintain highly qualified teachers;

  • Keep school libraries open;

  • Retain reading specialists to help struggling students achieve at their grade level;
